I'm sure this is a sturdy curtain rod but it came with a big chip on the side of one of the finials. It came very well packaged so it appears the damage occurred before it was even packed for shipment. I can't imagine how the broken off chunk could have been missed by the person packing it up because the whole item is black and the chipped off area is strikingly white. I gave it an overall three star rating because it appears very sturdy, which I need, and looks like what I ordered, besides the obvious chipped off area. Luckily, I can still use the rod and turn the finial so the chip isn't visible. I'll also use a black sharpie, or acrylic paint to cover the white area. I have one more rod coming tomorrow so I'm hoping for the best that it will be in better condition.
