These are very lightweight but the magnets appear to be strong enough to hold the curtains back well.I have them holding four small panels of rather lightweight blackout curtains together out of the way over my sliding doors at the back of my house and they hold just fine. However, if they were going to be hooked onto something on the wall and bear the weight of the curtains, I’m not sure they would hold. Perhaps sheer curtains they would. But for my needs, they work just great. And they aren’t that expensive that they can’t be tried out.
