These spring rods work well for light weight curtains -- what I wanted. They twist to lengthen or shorten. The rubber knobs on the ends do a fine job of gripping the inside of the window, holding the curtain in place. They do not lock at a desired length. The knobs against the insides of the window keep them from twisting once they are in place. They do like to twist in (shorten) as you are trying to put them in place. Easy enough to fix but a bit frustrating after the 4th try.I had seen that it was a lighter wood color online and was disappointed that it is a darker color; i can use them for something other than intended--many uses for tension rods.The mechanism is clever, although it took a little while to figure out, you need to move the cap in the middle before you lengthen the rod and then need to put it where the rods cross in middle when satisfied with the lengthThe color "Wood Grain" is very far from the color represented so I took off a star. I included a photo of the rod itself next to my oak shelving unit, and the colors are way off. Anyway, besides that the rods work as intended and easily support the light weight curtains I'm using to cover my storage area.These rods were better than I expected based on some of the reviews. I made macrame window planter treatments which held 3 plants and it stood up to the test. I recommend them.The price was good, the packaging was well done, the shipping was fast and it came when promised. While the rods are not the best quality in the world, they serve their purpose and are as described. They are sturdy enough for my purposes and easy to install. What else could you ask for?very flimsy in the middle when using it for 27 inches .I bought these to put up light curtains in my bathroom windows after I moved into my new place since I didn’t want to mount anything into the wall just yet. I’ve noticed them slipping in the beginning but I think that was due to me installing it incorrectly. So far they’ve stayed up after adjusting them. I’d much rather using these for curtains than drilling into the wall. When I’m done using them for the windows, I’ll probably use them in my closet or cabinets to pot lids or towels.Little light weighted.But thats fine, so far its good as am not extending it to full length. If i do it would be not be sturdy.
